Spirit Led Justice Alliance *Action Alert* 12/12/18

As our colleagues and friends gear up for the 2019 Legislative Session in Salem opportunities abound to get educated and active. This week we focus on the Fair Shot for All coalition and give you a heads up about a January gathering for Lift Every Voice Oregon’s work on gun control.

You also have the opportunity to help stop fracking a bit north of the border, in Longview Washington and the opportunity to be part of the solution in combating Hate incidents in Portland.

We are looking forward to seeing you at one of these events, as we pray not only with our feet but with our emails and our letters and our hearts!

After taking part in this week’s actions, please help us grow our alliance’s ability to affect change by inviting a faith rooted activist you’re connected with to join us bysending this link!

And finally, we look forward to seeing you at our next Interfaith service on Tuesday, January 15 at 7 pm. We will continue into the future on the third Tuesday of he month from 7-8 pm. Location TBD.

Blessings to all!

Rabbi Debra for the Portland Spirit Led Justice Alliance

*Tomorrow* Take Part in a Public Hearing to Stop the World’s Largest Methanol Refinery!

Hosted by Power Past Fracked Gas and 9 others

Thursday, December 13, 5-9 pm – Cowlitz County Event Center

1900 7th Avenue, Longview, Washington 98632

Join us at the last public hearing to stop the World’s Largest Fracked Gas to Methanol Refinery, proposed in Kalama, WA.

If built, the refinery would consume more fracked gas than all the PNW cities combined, require new fracked gas pipelines across the region, pollute the air with cancer-causing toxins, and endanger our dwindling salmon and orca populations.

Permitting agencies will hear from the public about whether this project should be approved or denied. Join us in packing the room and demanding they deny this project!

This is a free event, but RSVPs on the Facebook Event page are appreciated!

Investing in our Future
By fixing our broken tax structure, we can level the playing field, address inequality and create

economic opportunity for all Oregonians

Access to the Care We Need

By ensuring all workers can afford to take time away from their jobs to care for their loved ones, paid family and medical leave insurance will make families more financially stable.

Stable Homes for Families

By ending no-cause evictions and stabilizing rents, we can create more economically stable and diverse communities.

Equal Access to Justice

By ensuring everyone has equal access to legal representation, we can protect the constitutional right to a fair trial.

Fairness and Opportunity for Immigrant Families
By removing unnecessary challenges for immigrant families, we can expand economic opportunity and ensure no Oregonian lives in constant fear of being harassed or detained.
The digital toolkit will tell you everything you need to know about all of these initiatives.

Sign the petition to affirm your support for this agenda on page 5 of the tool kit and sign up for the upcoming Legislative Activist Summit on January 19 here:
