Spirit Led Justice Alliance *Action Alert* 2/12/20
Oregon’s short legislative session is in full swing and February is the month to raise our voices in support of progressive causes.
Next week you have the opportunity to join Ecumenical Ministries, the League of Women Voters and do some armchair activism on behalf of safe gun storage.
And all work no community is no recipe for sustainability and resilience, so we hope to see you at the Jobs with Justice Faith and Labor Breakfast next week! Join old friends and make some new ones as we celebrate the intersection of faith and successful activism at this annual event.
This week Jews celebrate Tu B’Shvat, the New Year of the Trees. We rejoice in the beginning of the running of the sap-the start of fecundity that is not so obvious, as it is still happening internally.
But the flow is nourishing and the flow is vibrant and the sustenance it provides is real.
May we all feel supported by the flow of nature Creation’s abundance begins to offer itself and by the flow of justice that we co-create with one another.
On behalf of the Portland Spirit Led Justice Alliance,
Rabbi Debra Kolodny

Oregon’s Legislative Session is in full swing and House Bill 4005, safe gun storage, needs your support. The safe gun storage bill has had a lot of positive momentum in the capitol. Moms Demand Action Oregon packed the building on their advocacy day, and dozens of supporters showing up to make their voice heard at the HB 4005 hearing.
Now your legislators need to hear directly from you. Find them here:
Email them with “Please support HB 4005!” in the subject line and let them know how important it is to pass safe gun storage this session. Some points you can mention:

- Preventing accidental injuries and death of children
